The NHL Alumni Association announced his untimely death, stating that he succumbed to his injuries following a tragic accident in Langley, British Columbia, just over two weeks ago.

Peat’s life took a tragic turn on August 30, 2026, when he was struck by a car in Langley, British Columbia, at 4:15 am.

The 44-year-old former NHL enforcer was a pedestrian at the time of the accident.

While no further details about the incident were provided,that Peat’s legacy will live on through his organ donation, which will help save numerous lives.
